Here are a few tips for maintaining CNC machining centers.
As a member of a CNC lathe manufacturer, we all hope that our machines will be easy to operate and produce very few defective parts. To meet these requirements, proper maintenance of CNC machine tools is essential. With that in mind, today we’d like to share with you several key methods for maintaining CNC machine tools:
As a member of a CNC lathe manufacturer, we all hope that our machines will be easy to operate and produce very few defective parts. To meet these requirements, proper maintenance of CNC machine tools is essential. With that in mind, today we’d like to share with you several key methods for maintaining CNC machine tools:
1. Daily inspection of CNC machining centers
Its main components include the hydraulic system, spindle lubrication system, guideway lubrication system, cooling system, and pneumatic system. Daily inspections are conducted based on the normal operating conditions of each system. For example, when performing a process check on the spindle lubrication system, the power indicator light should be on, and the oil pressure pump should be running normally. If the power indicator light is off, the spindle must remain stopped, and the machine engineer should be contacted for repair.
2. Weekly Inspection of CNC Machine Tools for CNC Machining
Its main components include machine tool parts and spindle lubrication systems, which should be properly inspected weekly. In particular, machine tool parts must be cleared of metal chips and externally cleaned of any foreign debris.
3. Monthly Inspection of CNC Machine Tools for CNC Machining
The primary focus is on inspecting the power supply and the air dryer. Under normal conditions, the power supply voltage should be at its rated value. 180V–220V, frequency 50Hz; if any abnormalities are detected, they should be measured and adjusted. The air dryer should be disassembled once a month for cleaning and reassembly.
4. Quarterly Inspection of CNC Machine Tools for CNC Machining
The quarterly inspection should primarily focus on three aspects: the machine tool bed, the hydraulic system, and the spindle lubrication system. For example, when inspecting the machine tool bed, pay close attention to whether the machine’s precision and level meet the requirements specified in the manual. If any issues are found, immediately contact the mechanical engineer. When inspecting the hydraulic system and the spindle lubrication system, if any problems are detected, replace the oil with new oil accordingly. 60 L and 20 L, and clean them.
5. Semi-annual inspection of CNC machining centers
Six months later, the machine tool’s hydraulic system and spindle lubrication system should be inspected. Check the X-axis; if any issues are found, replace the oil with fresh oil and then proceed with cleaning. After thoroughly familiarizing yourself with and mastering the knowledge of preventive maintenance, you must also gain a deeper understanding of, and acquire the necessary skills to address, abnormal phenomena in the hydraulic system. For instance, when the oil pump fails to deliver oil, the pressure is abnormal, or unusual noises occur, you should know the primary causes and the corresponding troubleshooting methods.
