Dongguan Wofu Hardware Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer specializing in the supply of hardware components and accessories—“we can process anything, from land vehicles to aircraft.” So, what are the characteristics of aerospace connector components? Let’s explore this together with Wofu Hardware’s editor!

Aviation connectors typically consist of a plug and a socket. The plug, also known as the free-end aviation connector, and the socket, also known as the fixed aviation connector, work together to establish and break electrical connections through mating and demating. Consequently, various connection methods have emerged for plugs and sockets. For circular aviation connectors, the three primary connection types are threaded, bayonet, and push-pull (or pin-and-tube) connections. Among these, the threaded connection is the most common. It boasts advantages such as simple manufacturing processes, low production costs, and wide applicability. However, its relatively slow connection speed makes it less suitable for applications requiring frequent plugging and unplugging or rapid connection sequences. The bayonet connection, with its longer lead distance provided by three bayonet slots, offers faster connection speeds. Yet, it is more complex to manufacture, resulting in higher costs. The push-pull connection is the fastest among the three types. It does not require rotational movement; instead, it achieves connection, disconnection, and locking functions simply through linear motion. Since this connection method is a direct push-pull type, it is best suited for aviation connectors with relatively low overall separation forces—making it particularly common in small-sized aviation connectors.
